Surrey Drug and Alcohol Care have recently appointed Mike Sproule as the charity's new Acting Chairman. Mike will be voted in as actual Chairman in the autumn at our annual AGM. Mike is leading a number of projects with SDAC, including the 25 year anniversary celebrations this Autumn.
Mike is a trained Addiction and Dependency Counsellor and over the years he has been involved in a number of committees. Since his retirement earlier this year, Mike was keen to bring his skills and experience to the voluntary sector.
A strong family man, and a keen potter, he is father to 2 sons, and has 5 grandchildren. Mike has personally been through his own journey of recovery, and celebrates 28 years sober.
Mike has been on the committee since October 2010 and is being well supported by former Chairman Brian MacKenzie, and the whole of the committee wish him well in his new role and look forward to taking the charity forward under his new leadership.
